Sharlene Chun-Lum is an educator and administrator by training and experience. She has degrees from the College of Arts and Science (BA, English), Education (Teaching Certificates) and Business (MBA).
Developing collaborative partnerships that leverage existing resources and building the capacity of communities to create sustainable solutions are two of her areas of strength.
Prior to becoming the Chief Project Director, she served as the Chief Operations Officer and co-director of MHT SIG, from May 2007 to December 2010l. She also served for more than 32 years with Kamehameha Schools (KS) and State, Federal, public and private organizations, largely focused on planning, implementing and delivering programs for children and communities. She has been a teacher, Senior Editor for KS Communications and Community Relations, Summer Programs Director, Interim Dean of Extension Education , Strategic Planning Special Projects Coordinator, and most recently, Director of KS' Ho`olako Like Department, which provides funding, training and advocacy for Hawaiian-focused charter schools.
Shar is married to Bruce Lum and they have two sons, Matthew and Jeffrey Chun-Lum.
